Hydraulic Tyre Killer / Spike Barrier
Brosis manufacture high security range of electro-hydraulic tyre killer / spike barrier consisting of an underground casing and heavy-duty steel spikes. In case vehicle try to enter forcefully, its tyres, suspension and axles will get destroy.

The underground casing consists of an all-around closed sheet steel casing with concrete anchors. Within the casing the bearings for the hydraulic cylinder and the spikes are installed. The top of the casing is equipped with a cover which allows passage of even the heaviest vehicles. It is designed to withstand a wheel load of 100 kN, according to DIN1072.
The upper cover includes slits which are covered while the blocking spikes are in raised position. This prevents dust etc. to fall into the underground casing and keeps it clean. The solid blocking spikes are welded to the solid rotation axis in a distance of approx. 100mm to 200 mm to each other. The axis is connected with the electro-hydraulic cylinder via a lever system.
Hydraulic power unit is provided in lockable weather resistant & corrosion resistant coating cabinet. It is designed in such a way that maintenance of hydraulic power unit and operation during emergency of hydraulic system is easy and convenient.
The tyre killer / spike barrier is electro-hydraulically operated with an electric motor of adequate size (230/400 V, 50/60 Hz; single phase/3-phase current). The hydraulic power unit and the electrical PLC-control unit is installed in a lockable weather-proof steel casing for outdoor installation (max. 20 m distance from tyre killer).
Raising time of the tyre killer: approx. 2 – 3 sec.
Lowering time of the tyre killer: approx. 2 – 3 sec.
Long-Term Corrosion Protection:
Corrosion protection consisting of one zinc layer plus two layers of plastic or powder coating.
Colour of plastic coating: – steel blocking spikes: red (RAL 3000)

Surface protection specification:
Tyre killer barricade anti-corrosion protection is treated with the steel surface protection processes. The steel structure is hot dip galvanized acc. to ISO EN 1461 norms. The heavy duty spikes are powder coated in red color acc. to RAL Standard pallet.
Tyre killer barricade frame is ultra strong and constructed high quality steel. Raised height of mobile obstacle is 90mm – 150 mm in standard. High quality pneumatic system and PLC system is being used. The cabinet is sealed and weather protected.
Tyre killer barricade covers the complete range of tyre killers spikes ranging from 2 to 6 meter in steps of 1 meter. The device is preassembled and easy to install.
Electromechanical Tyre killer / Spike Barrier
Brosis manufacture, supply and install electromechanical tyre killer to sites which are on threat of vehicle attack & without permission vehicles are not allowed to enter. Tyre killer work instantly and spikes raise in few seconds and thus will destroy tyres of vehicle trying to enter or exit without permission, therefore the vehicle moves only a few more meters and is stopped. Electromechanical drive unit & tyre killer is counted as a single unit in which drive unit is mounted at the right side (optional left also) of the tyre killer.
Electromechanical tyre killers are controlled by a PLC. Open/Close function can be achieved by every kind of card readers, bio-metrics readers like fingerprint or hand shape, radio control on/off switch or key switch etc. Besides, safety accessories like loop detectors, photocells, flashing lights or red/green light can be integrated to the control electronics very easily. Time delay arming of the tyre killer can be adjusted between 0-50 seconds.
Body, Jaws, And Drive Unit
Splitting jaws utilized in tyre killer is manufactured from 12 mm steel. Steel construction separating the jaws in the body is 100 mm U beam. When closed, tyre killer is designed to withstand 25 tons of axle load. As it will generally be installed outdoors, all the elements of body, jaws and the drive unit is galvanized. Driving axle on which the jaws are welded is supported by 4 single row radial contact ball bearings, therefore both smooth operation and durability against high axle loads is achieved. In case of power failure, it is possible to disarm the tyre killer manually. Cabinet of the drive unit is manufactured from A1 quality steel, galvanized, electrostatically powder coated to RAL 2004 and furnace.
